How to Use the Calypso Booster
You can use the Calypso Booster shortcuts as a minimalist - only what you need. Or you can gradually get familiar with the full set - it’s completely up to you.
Learning Process
- Remember, you don’t have to use all the available shortcuts to increase your productivity. Start with the basic list of shortcuts to get used to the most commonly used functions.
- Press Ctrl + F1 any time to see the online shortcut list.
- Read the “Hint” column to help you easily remember the shortcut.
- Print out the Excel version of the shortcut list if you wish. (Download here.) That way you can highlight your favorite shortcuts.
- If you installed PhraseExpress, play with those shortcuts as well.
- Be patient with the learning curve. It will pay off soon!
The shortcuts are grouped into the following categories:
Frequent Shortcuts
Most of these start with the Ctrl key, which is common and easy to use.
CAD Commands
Use the Ctrl + Alt keys for CAD-related tasks. Remember that CAD means “Ctrl + Alt + Do something”.
The one exception is when changing CAD views, use Ctrl + [number] on the number pad.
Creating Features & Characteristics
These all use the Alt key.
Misc. Commands
These all use the Shift + Alt combination.
Automatic Actions
You will notice that some things just happen automatically. For example, annoying dialogs are minimized, and the mouse cursor goes where you need it.
Text Shortcuts
Quickly type common words, symbols and phrases. Common typos are automatically corrected, even in Calypso.
Technical Note
Keep in mind that any of the shortcuts can be disabled if necessary. Many of the common shortcuts are automatically disabled when you go to a different application. Let us know if you encounter any shortcut interference.
